About The Song
Sometimes we don’t know what we’ve got until it’s gone. The song was written by the Philadelphia songwriting and record production team of Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. They had a big influence on that Philly sound. Lou Rawls released it on his 1976 album All Things in Time and as a single backed with “Let’s Fall in Love All Over Again.” It was a breakthrough hit for him. In 1976, it went to #1 on the U.S. Billboard R&B and Adult Contemporary charts. It was #2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and in Canada. It was #10 in the U.K. and #22 in Australia. The single sold more than one million copies and earned in RIAA gold record. The record also featured MFSB, that is, “Mother Father Sister Brother” session musicians from Philadelphia’s Sigma Sound Studios. They were assembled by Gamble and Huff.
“You’ll Never Find Another Love Like Mine” has been featured in numerous films, including The Hot Chick, Guess Who, Disturbia, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Hit and Run, Veronica Mars. On TV, it has appeared in That ’70s Show, South Park, Two and a Half Men, Psych, The Proud Family, and Dancing with the Stars.
Lou Rawls was a singer, actor, voice actor, and songwriter. He released more than 60 albums and sold more than 40 million records. He also won three Grammy awards, all for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance.
Lou Rawls, is just to much. Wow, “Your Going To Miss” is just darn good. I really never understood all the phrases until I read the lyrics and captions on this recording. Thank you so much. I love it and miss Lou so much.
